Sr. Field Support Engineer
Primary Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot and provide high-level of technical expertise to support & manage Network Servers, Desktops, Network Switches, Firewalls, Routers, and NAS/SAN technologies across a variety of environments.
- Perform proactive maintenance and monitor systems to avoid business impacting issues.
- Ensure uptime/availability of client’s business systems and applications.
- Act as a technical resource for clients to help with day-to-day business activities.
- Aid in design and implementation of systems and business and data continuity solutions
- Managed Enterprise storage solutions
- Perform some 24×7 on-call duties
- Participate in weekend and weeknight projects as necessary
- Provide detailed infrastructure and project documentation
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of 4 years’ experience in the IT support services field
- Must possess industry standard technical certifications (i.e. A+, Network +, MCITP, MCTS, CCNA or other relevant certifications)
- PSA and RMM software experience
- VOIP/Telephony knowledge and experience
- Excellent service ticket documentation and daily time keeping skills
- Hands-on experience maintaining & managing Windows Servers, MS SBS Server, MS Exchange & SQL Servers, and Windows Desktops
- Expertise in anti-virus/malware prevention and cleaning
- Excellent communication skills used to communicate on a non-technical level to end users to help them better understand the technologies they are using
- Hands-on experience with RAID and other storage solution technologies
- Ability to work with end users troubleshooting desktop top issues related to hardware and software
- Working knowledge and ability to troubleshoot Microsoft Office 2003-2010 software applications
- Ability to quickly troubleshoot network connectivity issues and to resolve workstation based issues over the phone or via remote support tools
- Ability to quickly learn and support new technologies and client LOB applications
- Excellent organizational and project management skills
- Ability to thoroughly follow through with assigned tasks to completion
Desired Qualifications:
- Hands-on experience with server virtualization
- Hands-on experience with Cisco IOS
- Experience with server performance tuning
- Experience with disaster recovery planning and testing
- Experience with Unix/Linux technologies
- Understanding of advanced networking concepts including VLAN, port tagging, Fiber Channel, Layer2 and Layer3 switching
- Experience with WSUS and patch management software.
- Experience with Terminal Services/Citrix Solutions
